a cup collection

About 15 years ago I started bringing home coffee mugs and tea cups as a souvenir of my travels. I guess it is because sitting in a new place, drinking a latte and watching the world go by is one of my most favorite things to do.

Plus, mugs are small and easy to pack and usually you can sift through the cheesy logo-ed varieties to find a unique and special one made by a local artist.

Now my cupboards are overflowing with a wonderful collection, each authentic to its original location and different from the rest. In the morning as I prepare my daily fuel, I am always happily surprised by the memories that run through my mind of where I was when found that day's mug.
